Reuse of green waste in fields

Description

Green waste from processing can be very interesting from the standpoint of adaptation to climate change since it returns carbon and nutrients to the ground in a well-balanced way. Therefore, the green waste contributes towards the enrichment of organic matter with benefits to the fertility and water availability. Straw, grass clippings and leaves can also be used as mulch to drastically reduce evaporation from otherwise uncovered terrain. In areas with trees, green pruning residues are already normally left in the field and cut up along with the grass clippings from any grass sub-strata.
