Borders and hedges

Description

The maintenance or restoration of natural elements that delimit the edges of fields or the farms themselves aim to slow down the movements of water from the soil to bodies of water and reduce erosion caused by water and wind. They are normally low-cost solutions to reduce the impacts of extreme events since they only include start-up costs, with no maintenance. They increase carbon storage in the ground and thanks to the buffer strip effect, reduce N2O emissions.
